Staff Engineer - Cloud Native Storage

The VMware Cloud Foundation Division enables organizations to run business-critical applications securely and efficiently using vSphere, vSAN, VLR, NSX, and Aria. The Cloud Native Storage (CNS) team elevates Broadcom's platforms for modern workloads, delivering seamless Kubernetes experiences with vSAN storage solutions.

CNS is a crucial control plane feature managing the lifecycle of persistent volumes for containerized applications via a Container Storage Interface (CSI) driver. This automates provisioning for stateful apps across vSAN, VMFS, and NFS datastores in Kubernetes environments.

As a Staff Software Engineer, design, implement, and deliver features for highly scalable distributed storage products. Ensure reliable operation of Kubernetes storage control planes across thousands of enterprise environments and oversee lifecycle management of workload clusters.

Work across layers from storage control plane to vSAN data plane to enable Kubernetes workloads. Serve as technical leader and mentor while tackling challenges like architecting control-plane workflows for creation, upgrade, scaling, and building resiliency in distributed systems.
